Michael Murray (RIP)

From correspondence with Michael's wife:

Michael died on 11/25/23. He had been ill on and off all year. Thank you for remembering him for the reunion. He used to check in on your website often and enjoyed reading about his classmates. He loved telling me about his running days!

Thank you for your kind words. Michael told me so much about his running in high school that I feel a kinship to one of his fellow runners.  I was pleased (and surprised) to hear you say he was a lot fun to be with, as he always gave me the impression he was a bit of a loner in school.  I don't know of any obituary online, but I can tell you a bit about us.

I met Michael online in 1998 at a trivia game.  Remember, this was back when it was taboo and dangerous to give any personal information online.  We connected immediately and finally met and moved in together in 1999, naturally shocking everyone.

After living in Brooklyn for a couple years, we ended up moving to San Antonio, Texas and lived and worked there for 16 years.  We retired in 2016 and moved from the rat race of S.A. to the slower-paced Rio Grande Valley in Texas (just north of Mexican border) in 2017.

Retirement was everything we always dreamed it would be - working on projects around the house, living comfortably and spending alot of time sitting outdoors on the patio just enjoying life.  We both loved being outdoors and hooked a TV up on the patio so we could watch the Yankees games outside.  He loved animals and we always had a cat.  The past year has been difficult with Michael being in pain and in and out of the hospital on and off.

He enjoyed life; we were together constantly and shared everything.  He wasn't a 'funny' guy, but had a great sense of humor and always made me laugh.  This is so hard for me; I feel so alone.  I miss him every minute of every day.

Thank you again for caring.  This has helped.
Carolyn
